Software Engineer, iOS, Level 3 (Snapchat)

Location: United States; office-based in Palo Alto or Santa Monica, with an expectation to work in the office 4+ days per week.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and ship messaging features in the hirify.globalchat iOS application.
• Improve the reliability, latency, and performance of chat and media delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design, and backend teams to define and execute the roadmap.
• Instrument features, analyze results, and run A/B tests to improve messaging engagement and daily active users.
• Maintain code quality, testing, observability, and operational readiness for a large-scale iOS codebase.
• Participate in incident and hotfix investigation and resolution when needed.

Requirements

• BS/BA degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, or equivalent experience; a Master's degree may qualify.
• At least 1 year of post-Bachelor's software development experience, or equivalent experience with a Master's degree.
• Professional experience shipping consumer iOS features end to end.
• Experience with iOS services or distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of networking, asynchronous and concurrent programming, and iOS performance tuning.
• Ability to work from the United States and attend the Palo Alto or Santa Monica office 4+ days per week.
