Location: Hybrid in Foster City, CA (at least 3 days in office required)

Salary: $192,300 – $307,600 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, and operate scalable cloud-native services on GCP using GKE and Kubernetes.
• Implement distributed systems capable of supporting high transaction volumes with strict latency and availability requirements.
• Drive performance engineering through throughput optimization, JVM tuning, and capacity planning.
• Deploy modern delivery strategies including Canary, Blue-Green deployments, and automated rollback mechanisms.
• Lead architecture discussions, design reviews, and technical decision-making processes.
• Mentor engineers and integrate AI-assisted workflows to improve developer productivity and code quality.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's degree (or 7+ with an Advanced degree).
• Deep expertise in Java/J2EE, RESTful APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Monitoring, Logging, Networking).
• Proven success in delivering high-throughput, low-latency applications with stringent SLA/SLO commitments.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Must be based in or able to work from Foster City, CA.
