What you will do

• Lead platform porting and BSP development for switch ASIC platforms, including hardware bring-up and driver integration.
• Design and implement control plane and data plane components for SONiC and FBOSS architectures.
• Integrate and validate ASIC drivers, optics/transceiver management, and thermal/power management.
• Develop and maintain platform services and daemons for hardware monitoring and configuration.
• Build test frameworks, automation, and CI/CD pipelines for NOS platform validation.
• Engage with open-source communities (SONiC, FBOSS) and leverage AI coding assistants to accelerate development.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with Linux systems programming and networking stacks.
• Experience with switch/networking hardware or network operating system development.
• Must be based in Costa Rica (hired via EOR).

Nice to have

• Experience with SONiC or FBOSS platform development.
• Linux kernel and driver development experience.
• Knowledge of network protocol implementation (L2/L3 switching, BGP, OSPF).
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor.
• Open-source contribution history in networking projects.
