What you will do

• Design and implement Ubuntu integration for IoT desktop and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.
• Partner with silicon and platform teams to deliver optimized, first-class Ubuntu experiences on their hardware.
• Take a holistic approach to Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, including technical plans, testing strategy, and quality metrics.
• Act as technical lead on customer engagements covering complete system architectures from cloud to edge.
• Support partner integration of apps and SDKs, build device OS images, and optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server.
• Work with advanced operating system and enterprise application technologies.

Requirements

• Experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto).
• Experience working with open source communities and licenses.
• Experience with Python, C, and C++.
• Ability to work effectively in a globally distributed team with self-discipline and self-motivation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar.

Nice to have

• Experience with server technologies (UEFI firmware, GPU computing, RDMA/Infiniband, virtualization stacks).
• Experience with graphics stacks.
• Networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST).
• Basic security best practices for IoT or server environments.
• IoT/embedded experience from board and SoC through firmware and OS to apps and services.
• Experience with CI automation (e.g., GitHub), performance benchmarking/profiling, and Docker/OCI/Kubernetes.
