What you will do

• Build and maintain SQL Server data warehouses and ETL processes sourcing data from enterprise applications and SharePoint.
• Modernize pipelines by introducing Python-based cleansing, database connectors, orchestration, credential management, source control, and reproducible deployment practices.
• Conduct regression, forecasting, classification, clustering, segmentation, statistical inference, and other advanced analyses.
• Design and optimize Power BI semantic models, dashboards, KPI products, reports, and custom Python visualizations.
• Implement automated data quality controls, evaluate model performance, and maintain a backlog for security, quality, and engineering improvements.
• Translate ambiguous stakeholder questions into measurable analysis, document technical systems, and present findings to non-technical audiences.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science, data engineering, or advanced analytics; a quantitative or technical degree is preferred, with equivalent experience accepted.
• Advanced SQL and hands-on experience with on-premises Microsoft SQL Server, including performance tuning.
• Strong Python skills for dataframe manipulation, numerical computing, visualization, and direct SQL Server connectivity.
• Power BI development experience with DAX, Power Query, semantic model design, and performance optimization.
• Experience building and maintaining ETL processes using SSIS or comparable tools, plus version control and Python dependency management.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a VA background investigation and PIV credential.

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Azure Machine Learning.
• Experience implementing CI/CD or deployment pipelines for Power BI assets.
• Text analytics, ensemble methods, temporal validation, experiment tracking, or model lifecycle experience.
• Experience with SharePoint, Power Platform, VA/VHA, or federal health IT environments.
• Microsoft PL-300 or DP-100 certification.
