Construction Manager

Location: Texas City, Texas, United States; generally onsite 5 days a week with travel required

What you will do

• Act as the onsite owner’s representative for utility-scale solar and BESS construction delivered by third-party EPC contractors.
• Manage project execution against approved schedules, budgets, scopes of work, permits, and EPC contract requirements.
• Coordinate safety, environmental, QA/QC, commissioning, and construction activities, including daily site walks and progress reporting.
• Verify civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical milestones, construction quality, deliverables, invoices, and completed work.
• Manage change orders, schedule remediation, punch lists, closeout activities, and contract documentation with the project management team.
• Maintain communication with landowners, regulators, authorities having jurisdiction, EPC contractors, engineering teams, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of onsite utility-scale solar, battery storage, substation, or comparable large-scale power, oil and gas, or chemical construction management experience.
• Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, methods, building products, construction details, regulations, and quality standards.
• OSHA 30 certification.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; extensive knowledge and daily use of Procore are expected.
• Ability to conduct physically rigorous site inspections, walk construction sites, and work in varied climates and environmental conditions.
• Ability to lead stakeholders, communicate clearly, identify project risks, and develop schedule and budget remediation plans.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science degree.
• FAA Part 107 license; training and certification costs will be reimbursed.
• Knowledge of Google Earth and ArcGIS.
• Experience with drone-based construction progress documentation.
