Robotics Validation & Release Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Arlington, Virginia, United States. Full-time role with 60% travel to active construction sites and field test environments.

Salary: $145,000–$181,050 per year, plus annual bonus.

What you will do

• Define validation strategies, test coverage, quality gates, release criteria, and go/no-go processes for Maximo robotics software.
• Own software releases from planning through deployment, post-release verification, rollback planning, and release documentation.
• Coordinate testing across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop systems, laboratory rigs, and field robots.
• Develop CI pipelines, automated regression suites, scenario libraries, instrumentation, and repeatable deployment workflows.
• Establish performance, reliability, latency, uptime, and safety benchmarks for perception, autonomy, controls, and system services.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, construction, supply chain, business development, and external industry partners to integrate and validate robotic systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, robotics, computer science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in robotics systems and a track record of delivering complex robotics systems to market.
• Strong programming skills in C++ and Python, with proficiency in ROS 2 and ROS hardware integration.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Docker, build systems, robotics simulation, digital twins, and distributed-system middleware such as DDS and QoS.
• Experience owning releases for systems with embedded, real-time, and hardware-interface components, including safety-critical or autonomous systems.
• English required; strong debugging, communication, collaboration, and systems-architecture skills.

Nice to have

• Technical understanding of solar engineering, automation, computer vision, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
• Experience with mobility, sensor fusion, servomotors, battery management, safety components, and industrial robotics.
• Entrepreneurial or founder’s mentality and comfort working with uncertainty and fast iteration.
