What you will do

• Write, tune, and maintain Panther SIEM detections across cloud, container, and SaaS log sources.
• Operate the SIEM, onboard log sources, improve detection quality, and reduce false positives.
• Triage and investigate security alerts and support incident-response playbooks.
• Run AWS cloud security operations, including GuardDuty and Wiz investigations and remediation of misconfigurations.
• Improve GitHub security controls, network and infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and security automation.
• Contribute to security design reviews, pull-request reviews, RFCs, and operational runbooks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in security engineering with hands-on AWS and cloud-native infrastructure experience.
• Experience writing and tuning detections in a modern SIEM and assessing detection coverage.
• Experience investigating security alerts from raw logs through defensible conclusions.
• Ability to independently deliver medium-complexity security work and automate tasks with Python or TypeScript.
• Knowledge of CloudTrail, VPC Flow Logs, GuardDuty, AWS Config, VPC security, security groups, egress controls, and Terraform.
• Must be based in the United States for this fully remote role.

Nice to have

• Startup experience, especially in health tech or regulated, data-sensitive environments.
• Incident-response experience or interest in developing further in this area.
• Advanced network security experience, including segmentation, Transit Gateway, and firewall or egress architecture.
• Kubernetes and container security exposure.
• Interest in AI, agentic security, and security automation.
