TL;DR

Director, Product Management (AML & Sanctions Screening): Defining and executing the product vision and roadmap for enterprise AML and sanctions screening capabilities with an accent on regulatory compliance, screening logic optimization, and risk mitigation. Focus on modernizing controls using AI/ML, managing global sanctions lists, and ensuring scalable screening across payment flows.

Location: Hybrid (Austin, TX) - requires at least 3 days in office

Salary: $169,600 - $271,400 USD per year

What you will do

  • Own the end-to-end product portfolio for AML and sanctions screening, including name and transaction screening across payment lifecycles.
  • Define the product strategy, roadmap, and target-state architecture for enterprise screening platforms to align with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the design of screening logic, fuzzy matching, and alert frameworks to balance risk coverage and false positive reduction.
  • Integrate next-generation AI and ML capabilities to improve screening effectiveness and enhance analyst productivity.
  • Oversee global sanctions list management, including ingestion, normalization, and versioning.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, and Engineering teams to ensure controls are embedded in new product initiatives and payment flows.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience with Advanced/PhD degrees).
  • Deep specialization in AML and sanctions screening with proven leadership experience in compliance technology.
  • Expertise in sanctions regulations (OFAC, UK, EU, UN) and translating them into technical requirements.
  • Experience with beneficial ownership, indirect exposure, and ownership-rule logic (e.g., 50% rule).
  • Strong analytical skills for assessing false positives, coverage gaps, and control effectiveness.
  • Must be based in or be able to work from Austin, TX.
