Operational Technology Engineer

TL;DR

Operational Technology Engineer (Industrial Automation/AI Infrastructure): Designing and sustaining resilient OT infrastructure for hyperscale AI data centers and co-located power generation facilities with an accent on BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLC, and industrial networking. Focus on integrating high-availability cooling and power control systems, securing OT communications, solving complex field issues, and delivering reliable control architectures under aggressive deployment timelines.

Location: Onsite in Memphis, Tennessee, or Southaven, Mississippi, United States; travel to project sites and extended or non-standard shifts may be required.

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end design, programming, configuration, commissioning, sustainment, and optimization of OT infrastructure.
• Deliver highly available control systems for hyperscale cooling, power, facility networks, industrial control networks, and server rooms.
• Design and sustain Juniper fiber and copper networks, including segmentation, VRFs, and industrial control network integration.
• Secure and monitor OT communications across BACnet, Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, Ethernet/IP, and related protocols.
• Troubleshoot complex OT issues, perform root-cause analysis, and provide on-call support for critical operations.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, facilities, construction, and networking teams while improving standards and mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in controls, automation, electrical, mechatronics, computer engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Controls, OT, or Automation Engineer in data centers, power plants, semiconductor fabs, heavy industry, or other mission-critical facilities.
• Experience designing and sustaining BMS, EPMS, SCADA, PLC, and other critical infrastructure control systems.
• Experience with virtualization platforms, Juniper networks, SQL databases, OT server hardening, and isolated management planes.
• Knowledge of OT network design, segmentation, secure remote access, VLANs, VRFs, firewalls, jump hosts, and monitoring.
• Ability to work onsite in Memphis or Southaven, travel to project sites, and support extended or non-standard shifts when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ignition SCADA or Siemens TIA Portal.
• Experience commissioning major mechanical and electrical systems in data centers or industrial plants.
• Experience with predictive analytics readiness and standardized control architectures.
