What you will do

• Design, develop, and commission PLC programs for cooling and mechanical equipment using Siemens (TIA Portal) and Rockwell (Studio 5000) platforms.
• Develop supervisory logic for the Master Plant Controller, including equipment staging, failover, and plant-level coordination.
• Build and maintain the SCADA/HMI layer using Siemens WinCC, Rockwell FactoryTalk View, or Ignition for alarming and trending.
• Integrate OEM-controlled equipment over Modbus TCP, BACnet, OPC UA, EtherNet/IP, and PROFINET.
• Create process simulations and digital twins to validate logic and tune control loops before site deployment.
• Develop general-purpose software around the controls stack, including data pipelines and telemetry services for cloud integration.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience programming industrial PLCs and SCADA/HMI systems in production environments.
• Deep expertise in Siemens S7-1500/1200 or Rockwell ControlLogix/CompactLogix, with fluency in Structured Text.
• Strong command of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, OPC UA, BACnet).
• Experience programming controls for mechanical or HVAC plants (pumps, chillers, air handling).
• Proven track record of commissioning live systems with a rigorous, safety-first mindset.
• Must be based in the USA and available for frequent travel to job sites.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid cooling or high-density compute thermal management.
• Ignition (Inductive Automation) experience with Python/Jython scripting.
• Functional safety experience (PROFIsafe, CIP Safety, SIL-rated logic).
• General software engineering skills (Python, C#, C++, Go) and familiarity with Git.
• Background bridging IT and OT with modern practices like CI/CD and containerization.
