What you will do

• Supervise undergraduate nursing students in hospital or community clinical settings.
• Assign students to provide direct patient or client care and supervise their clinical activities.
• Assess initial skill levels, teach new competencies, and monitor performance against accepted practice standards.
• Support course leaders with clinical coursework, skills instruction, and grading.
• Participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating the clinical component of undergraduate nursing courses.
• Attend clinical-site orientation sessions and collaborate with course leaders and undergraduate program leadership.

Requirements

• Undergraduate degree in Nursing and Registered Nurse registration with BCCNM.
• At least two years of clinical nursing experience for the Nursing Practice Educator role.
• Experience in medical-surgical nursing.
• Willingness to respect diverse perspectives and strengthen knowledge and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while supervising normally six, and up to twelve, students.

Nice to have

• Strong clinical background in adult acute or critical care, maternal and child health, pediatrics, mental health, gerontology, or community and population health.
• Teaching experience or a strong interest in teaching.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills.
