Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS)

Senior DevOps Engineer (AWS): Managing and evolving secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for mission-critical public-sector applications with an accent on Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and operational reliability. Focus on designing reusable Terraform modules, automating deployments, troubleshooting complex production environments, and meeting strict security and vetting requirements.

Location: Nationwide, United Kingdom; hybrid work with 50% office attendance for employees within reasonable commuting distance of an NEC SWS office. Candidates must have a pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU. SC eligibility is required.

What you will do

• Own cloud infrastructure provisioning, operation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Design and maintain reusable Infrastructure as Code across complex, multi-environment estates.
• Create, optimize, and troubleshoot secure CI/CD pipelines.
• Operate production Kubernetes and ArgoCD environments while responding to performance and availability issues.
• Collaborate with Solutions Architects and wider teams to deliver DevOps solutions.
• Investigate technical improvements, run experiments, and promote better engineering practices.

Requirements

• Several years of production cloud infrastructure experience with AWS.
• Strong Terraform experience, including reusable modules and complex multi-environment estates.
• Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
• Ability to automate with Python or Bash.
• Experience creating and securing CI/CD pipelines, with awareness of deployment risks.
• SC eligibility, pre-existing right to work and travel within the EU, and successful vetting and reference checks are required.

• Experience with Azure.
• Experience with Terragrunt.
• Experience with CircleCI.
