CTO / Head of Engineering (FinTech)

Location: Remote (Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Armenia, Georgia preferred) → relocation to London in the future Salary: €7,000–12,000/month + Equity Type: Full-time Kanzum is building the infrastructure for international business payments. We help companies move money globally through local payment rails, virtual accounts, FX and treasury infrastructure. Our clients operate across Africa, MENA, Europe and Asia, and we are building financial infrastructure that removes friction from international commerce. We're now entering the next stage of growth. To get there, we need to bring engineering fully in-house and build a world-class product organization. This is an opportunity to rebuild engineering, own the technical vision, and become one of the key leaders shaping the company's future.

Technical Leadership

• Define and own the technical vision of the platform
• Lead architecture decisions across the entire system
• Improve scalability, reliability and maintainability

Engineering Organization

• Build and lead the internal engineering team
• Hire senior engineers through your own network and active recruiting
• Create a strong engineering culture focused on ownership and execution

Product Partnership

• Work closely with Founder and Product to prioritize initiatives
• Translate customer needs into technical solutions
• Balance speed with technical excellence
• Help shape product strategy through technical insight

Security & Infrastructure

• Improve platform security and operational resilience
• Drive implementation of engineering standards and secure development practices
• Own reliability, monitoring and incident response
• Help prepare the company for future compliance requirements (ISO 27001 and similar standards)

Delivery

• Build predictable engineering processes
• Introduce modern AI-assisted engineering workflows where they create measurable value

Must-have

• Strong software engineering background with hands-on experience in .NET / C#
• Experience building or significantly rebuilding complex software platforms
• Background in fintech, banking, payments or another highly regulated industry
• Experience designing scalable distributed systems
• Strong understanding of software architecture
• Experience hiring and leading engineering teams
• Excellent communication skills
• Business-level English

Strong advantages

• Experience with payment infrastructure, financial systems or cloud-native architectures
• Experience implementing ISO 27001 or similar security frameworks
• Experience building APIs used by external partners
• Experience scaling engineering organizations from startup to growth stage
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers
