What you will do

• Lead and grow backend, blockchain, DevOps, and frontend engineering teams.
• Define and execute the engineering roadmap with the CTO and Product leadership.
• Oversee architecture, code quality, security, reliability, observability, automation, and documentation.
• Build scalable hiring processes, career frameworks, and team structures.
• Represent Engineering in discussions with Product, Legal, Operations, Partnerships, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Identify technical bottlenecks and improve execution across the organisation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of engineering experience, including 2+ years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams in a startup or scale-up environment.
• Strong background in backend development, DevOps, or distributed systems.
• Experience scaling engineering teams, hiring engineers, and improving organisational processes.
• Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, including AWS, CI/CD, and containerisation.
• Experience in fintech, regulated environments, or high-trust software platforms, with strong communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with asset tokenization, blockchain systems, distributed ledger technology, or digital asset custody.
• Experience building APIs, developer platforms, or B2B SaaS products.
• Experience working across multiple geographies and with institutional clients, legal teams, compliance teams, or regulators.
• Experience building systems that passed penetration tests or compliance audits.
