Lead Veterinarian

Location: Onsite practice locations in Arvada, Denver, and Littleton, Colorado, and Salt Lake City and Herriman, Utah, USA. Some travel may be required.

What you will do

• Lead veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and assistants while setting standards for high-quality veterinary care and client service.
• Perform physical examinations, diagnostic, medical, surgical, and dental procedures, including care for complicated cases.
• Explain diagnoses and treatment plans to clients and maintain accurate medical and surgical records.
• Mentor associate veterinarians and develop the paraprofessional team.
• Oversee operating, safety, compliance, controlled-substance, and practice-record procedures.
• Stay current with veterinary medicine developments and participate in continuing education.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, DVM, VMD, or equivalent.
• Active state license in good standing, DEA license, and other required state credentials.
• At least 5 years of general medicine and surgery experience and 1–3 years of leadership experience.
• Ability to collaborate with veterinary professionals and provide empathetic customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and perform physical duties including standing or walking for up to 80% of a shift and lifting up to 50–70 pounds.

Nice to have

• Two years of supervised experience with veterinary radiation machines.
