TL;DR
Software Engineer (Python/Data): Modernizing data architectures and pipelines for critical public programs with an accent on scalable data models, pipeline performance, and security. Location: Must be based in the contiguous United States. Hybrid onsite in Trenton, NJ (2 days/week) or fully remote if residing in one of the following approved states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, DC, DE, FL, GA, IL, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NV, NC, NJ, NY, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, TX, TN, UT, VA, WA, WI.
Salary: $120,600 - $135,900 USD

What you will do
- Translate business requirements into detailed technical specifications for data services.
- Develop data engineering applications and pipelines to enable advanced analytics, AI/ML, and experimentation.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable data engineering solutions on cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Participate in software design and code reviews to ensure quality and reliability.
- Implement automated testing, monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD for production systems.
Requirements
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
- Must be located in one of the approved US states or able to work onsite in Trenton, NJ.
- Minimum 8 years of professional software engineering experience using Agile, TDD, and CI/CD.
- Proven experience building ETL pipelines to ingest, process, and store data.
- Proficiency in Python for both data processing and server-side applications.
- Strong expertise in relational databases and advanced SQL, particularly with PostgreSQL.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS services including ECS, S3, CloudWatch, and Glue.
- Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform.
- Experience with legacy modernization, specifically working with mainframes.
- Proficiency with data observability tools to maintain infrastructure and data quality.
