What you will do

• Design, implement, and deliver complex platform features and systems using Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, GraphQL, and REST.
• Contribute to frontend and mobile code when needed, including React and React Native.
• Lead technical-debt reduction, refactoring, performance optimization, and system-reliability initiatives.
• Influence architecture and system design while identifying long-term technical improvements.
• Improve code quality, test coverage, documentation, internal tooling, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and developer experience.
• Mentor engineers, facilitate technical decisions, resolve escalated challenges, and collaborate with product managers and designers.

Requirements

• Must permanently live and work in the United States.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience, with flexibility based on the quality of experience.
• Advanced Ruby on Rails or comparable MVC-framework expertise, including scalable data models and APIs.
• Production experience with Redis, PostgreSQL, and Sidekiq.
• Experience contributing across backend, frontend, and data layers.
• Experience using artificial intelligence to build, enhance, or optimize product tools and features, plus strong ownership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Elasticsearch, MongoDB, React, React Native, Terraform, or GraphQL.
• Experience integrating large language models such as OpenAI or Gemini.
