Senior SAP ABAP Engineer (Banking)

What you will do

• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical incidents in productive SAP Banking environments.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive solutions.
• Design, develop, and maintain ABAP-based corrections, enhancements, interfaces, and technical improvements.
• Support application stability, security, performance, releases, deployments, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with customers, internal stakeholders, and partners to resolve technical challenges and improve service quality.
• Mentor junior colleagues and help build engineering standards, support processes, and a growing AMS capability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 6–7 years of experience in object-oriented ABAP development.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical analysis skills.
• Experience with productive SAP systems, business-critical applications, ABAP Objects, enhancements, interfaces, and SAP development best practices.
• Experience mentoring developers and supporting engineering team development.
• Fluent English and fluent German are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in Application Management Services or production support environments.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or insurance.
• Knowledge of CDS Views, OData Services, RAP, SAP UI5, Fiori, or SAP S/4HANA development.
• Experience with automation, operational improvements, or knowledge management initiatives.
