Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) / DevOps Engineer (Kafka)

What you will do

• Own and operate Kafka-based messaging platforms in production environments.
• Apply SRE principles to improve system reliability, availability, and performance.
• Drive DevOps and automation initiatives to reduce manual operations and toil.
• Build and enhance automation using Ansible, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Perform incident management, root cause analysis (RCA), and capacity planning.
• Collaborate with application and platform engineering teams to improve Java-based tooling.

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience working with Kafka and messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of Kafka architecture, including brokers, topics, partitions, and replication.
• Hands-on experience with SRE and DevOps practices.
• Proven skills in automation using Ansible, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Java development background with the ability to debug or build platform tools.
• Experience with Linux, distributed systems, and monitoring and alerting tools.
