Principal Data Engineer (AWS)

Location: Kraków, Poland; hybrid working schedule

What you will do

• Design data pipeline architecture and assemble complex datasets for functional and non-functional requirements.
• Build extraction, transformation, and loading infrastructure using SQL and AWS cloud technologies.
• Automate manual processes, optimize data delivery, and redesign infrastructure for scalability.
• Develop analytics tools and data structures supporting employee experience, operational efficiency, and performance metrics.
• Support software developers, data analysts, and data scientists with data infrastructure and technical issues.
• Design prompts, evaluate AI and NLP workflows, and improve output quality through experimentation and performance analysis.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a data engineering role.
• Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field.
• Strong command of English required.
• Experience with AWS Batch, CloudFormation, IAM, Lambda, ECS, and Step Functions.
• Experience with Terraform, Python, SQL, relational databases such as PostgreSQL, RESTful APIs, and BI tools such as QuickSight.

Nice to have

• Experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies, Power BI dashboards, and unstructured datasets.
• Experience processing large, disconnected datasets and working with globally distributed teams.
• Experience with prompt design, natural language processing, AI experimentation, and workflow optimization.
