Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; hybrid with at least 3 days in the office

Salary: $97,800–$152,100 USD per year, with potential bonus and equity eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, unit test, and maintain secure, high-quality software applications.
• Build full-stack solutions across backend services, databases, queries, APIs, and frontend user interfaces.
• Design and implement robust, scalable, distributed, concurrent, and low-latency systems.
• Apply generative AI and LLM-based frameworks to improve engineering productivity and deliver high-impact projects.
• Participate in architecture, design, and code reviews while contributing to the product roadmap.
• Collaborate with architects, systems analysts, project managers, and developers to implement business requirements and provide third-level user support.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or at least 3 years of relevant work experience.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Python, and related technologies.
• Experience with highly distributed, scalable, concurrent, and low-latency systems.
• Experience with databases such as DB2, MySQL, or NoSQL data warehouses including HBase.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLM-based frameworks, and multiple concurrent AI and non-AI application projects.
• Experience in Agile and Test-Driven Development environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data and UI technologies.
• Experience with Jenkins, Artifactory, Git, Selenium, or Chef.
