TL;DR
Engagement Activities Specialist (STEM Outreach): Designing and implementing collaboration models and educational opportunities for the ESA Academy to prepare future space talent with an accent on stakeholder engagement and program operations. Focus on managing calls for applications, establishing university partnerships, and coordinating high-impact educational events like hackathons and challenges.

Location: Libin, Belgium. Must be eligible to work and live in the EU

hirify.global provides workforce management services to support the European Space Agency (ESA).

What you will do

  • Coordinate the ESA Academy Engagement Programme, ensuring continuity and improvement of recurrent educational activities.
  • Design and implement new programme elements, including the automation of support requests and matching with subject matter experts.
  • Liaise with academia, industry, and ESA Directorates to deliver joint events such as hackathons, career fairs, and training courses.
  • Manage calls for applications, selection processes, and the allocation of sponsorships and scholarships.
  • Develop outreach materials and manage communication channels, including newsletters and social media, to raise space-career awareness.
  • Build and manage the ESA Academy alumni community and university alliance network.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Communications, Education, International Relations, STEM Outreach, Project Management, or Public Policy.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in stakeholder engagement, educational programme management, or international cooperation.
  • Proven experience managing calls for applications, selection processes, and grant-supported initiatives.
  • Experience establishing partnerships with universities, industry, or public institutions.
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken).
  • Eligibility to work and live in the EU.

Nice to have

  • Fluency in French (written and spoken).
  • Previous experience within ESA, ESA Academy, or international education programmes.
  • Experience in alumni engagement and community-building initiatives.
  • Background in outreach, science communication, or career awareness programmes.
