IT Business Analyst (Payments)

TL;DR

IT Business Analyst (Payments) (SWIFT/SEPA/ISO 20022): Shaping and delivering international payment solutions across ING’s banking network with an accent on business analysis, payment messaging, and cross-border payment flows. Focus on challenging solution designs, translating business needs into technical requirements, and coordinating testing, roadmaps, risks, and dependencies in a regulated financial environment.

Location: Hybrid work in Istanbul, Türkiye, with office attendance at Vadistanbul typically two days per week during three weeks of the month and one fully remote week each month. Additional remote working opportunities are available throughout August.

What you will do

• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for international payment and financial messaging initiatives.
• Translate business needs into actionable technical requirements and facilitate alignment across business, architecture, product, engineering, and DevOps stakeholders.
• Challenge assumptions and solution designs during discovery and MVP definition while identifying opportunities to reuse existing capabilities.
• Create implementation roadmaps and delivery plans from business and technology perspectives.
• Support integration testing, post-implementation validation, and cross-squad delivery improvements.
• Identify, track, and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in business analysis, payment systems, banking technology, or related financial transformation programs.
• Strong knowledge of SWIFT payment systems and messaging standards, including experience with ISO 20022.
• Hands-on experience with SEPA Credit Transfer processes and broader SEPA payment scheme mechanics.
• Experience with cross-border and international payment flows and collaboration with banking or technology stakeholders.
• Experience across the software development lifecycle, Agile delivery, solution discovery, integration testing, and stakeholder facilitation.
• Excellent English communication skills required. Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree required.

Nice to have

• Experience in a bank’s internal IT organization on payment systems or payment integration initiatives.
• Experience with international payment transformation programs.
• Background with banking technology providers, payment vendors, or system integrators.
