Salary: CAD 115,000–165,000 per year, plus variable or incentive compensation, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead backend engineering from rapid prototypes to large-scale cloud applications across platform products.
• Build authentication and authorization services for internal service-to-service and external user-access scenarios.
• Design and scale systems handling millions of events per second, terabytes of data per day, and more than one trillion decisions daily.
• Collaborate with multiple product groups to define, build, and improve platform capabilities.
• Improve architecture, performance, stability, knowledge models, and user experience through iterative development.
• Mentor developers, contribute to open-source projects, and promote engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong experience with distributed systems, scalability, sharding, partitioning, horizontal scaling, multithreading, concurrency, and parallel processing.
• Proficiency with Go, cloud-based systems, API and systems design, and resilient architecture.
• Experience with testing, code reviews, continuous integration, and production-quality software delivery.
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience with data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, GCP, SpiceDB, OpenFGA, Zanzibar, Kafka, Elasticsearch, SAML, OAuth, SSO, OIDC, or JWT.
• Authorship or leadership of successful open-source libraries and projects.
• Background in cybersecurity or intelligence.
