Lead AI Software Engineer

Location: United States - Remote

Base salary: $182,000–$259,000 per year

What you will do

• Provide technical context, direction, and guidance to cross-functional teams, executives, and business stakeholders.
• Author and contribute to high-level designs, then lead low-level design and implementation for major AI initiatives.
• Develop production-scale AI product solutions for multiple business use cases, including rapid-turnaround solutions for urgent needs.
• Shape AI strategy with Product and Engineering leadership and evaluate technologies for business fit and ROI.
• Build secure, cost-effective, performant, and scalable systems for very large-scale workloads.
• Upskill the organization through technology evangelism, mentorship, coaching, experimentation, and education.

Requirements

• Significant experience architecting and shipping Agentic AI systems in production, beyond prototypes or proofs of concept.
• Strong server-side engineering experience in Python, Go, Java, or a similar language, including maintaining production systems.
• Experience building product solutions with LLM and GenAI technologies.
• Demonstrated technical leadership across engineering, product, and other cross-functional stakeholder groups, driving vision and execution without formal authority.
• Expertise with AWS, GCP, or Azure; API architecture; and modern MLOps practices.
• Solid experience with SQL, in-memory storage, and similar data storage solutions.
• Familiarity with Angular, React, or similar frontend frameworks.
• A preferred minimum Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, SW, CE, MIS, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with product data pipelines and familiarity with e-commerce taxonomies and schemas.
• Familiarity with modern AI infrastructure, including vector databases, model orchestration tools, inference frameworks, and cloud-native ML workflows.
