Senior Manager, Data Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote-friendly within North America (USA, Canada). Office options in San Francisco, Portland, Boston, Denver, or Toronto.

Salary: $152,000 – $272,250

What you will do

• Define the engineering strategy, architecture, and roadmap for data security capabilities (classification, discovery, and DLP).
• Lead engineering teams responsible for DSPM, SSPM, and DLP platforms.
• Design and operate data discovery and classification pipelines across cloud, SaaS, and endpoint environments.
• Drive DLP policy enforcement across endpoints, network egress, email, and generative AI surfaces.
• Build and maintain cloud data security controls across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Partner with Legal and Privacy teams to translate GDPR, CCPA, and SOC 2 requirements into engineering controls.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in data security or enterprise security engineering.
• 3+ years leading engineering teams responsible for data security platforms at enterprise scale.
• Hands-on experience with DSPM and SSPM platforms.
• Deep knowledge of data classification frameworks and cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Must be based in North America.
• Demonstrated proficiency with current AI-assisted engineering tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with FedRAMP or other highly regulated environment requirements.
• Experience with AI-era risks, including LLM output leakage and prompt injection.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CCSP.
