Associate Principal - Security

TL;DR

Associate Principal - Security (Physical and Electronic Security Engineering): Leading and delivering coordinated security engineering designs for mid- to large-size AEC projects with an accent on technical design, documentation, cross-discipline coordination, and client communication. Focus on resolving coordination risks, mentoring engineers and Designers, improving engineering standards through GitHub Pull Requests, and supporting project delivery from programming through closeout.

Location: Remote within the United States; occasional travel to client sites, construction sites, and project locations is required.

Salary: $125,000–$160,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead security discipline work across small- to mid-scale projects and contribute to mid- to large-size project delivery from programming through closeout.
• Prepare and review layouts, calculations, specifications, markups, decision logs, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Project Leads, Group Leads, senior engineers, Designers, clients, and design partners to manage scope, sequencing, risks, and deliverables.
• Mentor Designers and engineers through design reviews, technical guidance, markups, and structured feedback.
• Improve standards, workflows, templates, and tools through documented lessons learned and GitHub Pull Requests.
• Support pursuits, client relationship development, site walks, surveys, inspections, and construction-phase coordination.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of experience in AEC or related professional services with discipline-specific experience in ICT, security, physical security, or electronic security.
• Experience delivering accurate, coordinated designs and applying sound engineering judgment within scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
• Strong understanding of project delivery workflows, client expectations, documentation standards, and cross-discipline coordination.
• Proficiency with Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit, Bluebeam Studio, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and GitHub.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience leading discipline portions of mid- to large-size projects and guiding Designers or engineers.
• PSP or CPP certification for Security.
• CDT, EIT, PE, or PMP certification.
