TL;DR

Location: Hybrid schedule with 3–4 days per week onsite at the Mark Center in Alexandria, Virginia, and 1–2 days remote; candidates must hold an active Secret security clearance.

Salary: $99,300–$144,100 USD per year

What you will do

  • Support the development of enduring radiological and nuclear defense capabilities for the National Guard Bureau and Joint Force.
  • Evaluate threats, identify capability gaps, and develop potential technical and operational solutions.
  • Manage requirements collection, validation, and prioritization to support the PPBE process.
  • Assess and synchronize U.S. material solutions and broader radiological and nuclear defense capabilities.
  • Coordinate research, stakeholder engagements, strategies, and program reviews.
  • Maintain resource investment strategies and provide analysis to support senior leadership decisions.

Requirements

  • Active Secret security clearance required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, technology, management, or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of Department of War experience in a staff environment.
  • Experience providing assessments and analyses addressing cost, schedule, and performance parameters.
  • Extensive expertise and in-depth knowledge of radiological and nuclear defense.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience with the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Nuclear Deterrence, Chemical, and Biological Defense, Policy and Programs.
