Business Analyst (Federal Systems)

TL;DR

Business Analyst (Federal Systems): Supporting the analysis, design, and implementation of enterprise information systems for federal programs with an accent on requirements elicitation, system documentation, and lifecycle management. Focus on bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.

Location: Hybrid-Remote. Must be able to be onsite in Suitland, MD, at least once per week. Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.

Salary: $100,000 - $126,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Support requirements elicitation sessions with business and technical stakeholders.
• Analyze business processes and operational workflows to identify system requirements.
• Document functional, non-functional, interface, and business requirements.
• Develop user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain requirements traceability and perform impact analysis for system changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, testers, and cybersecurity.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
• 8+ years of experience in systems analysis or requirements engineering.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust security clearance.
• Experience with SDLC and systems engineering principles.
• Proficiency in documenting system interfaces and technical artifacts.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sparx Enterprise Architect or similar modeling tools.
• Familiarity with MBSE concepts and SysML.
• Experience with requirements management tools like Jira, IBM DOORS, or Jama.
• Prior U.S. Census Bureau or Federal systems experience.
