Research Analyst (Defense)

TL;DR

Research Analyst (Defense): Supporting senior Government leadership on complex programmatic and analytical tasks across the ONR S&T portfolio with an accent on technical program analysis, research, and assessments. Focus on facilitating collaboration among diverse Government entities and delivering strategic RDT&E briefings.

Location: Hybrid (Arlington, VA) — 4 days onsite, 1 day remote. Secret security clearance required.

What you will do

• Support senior Government leadership on complex programmatic tasks across the ONR S&T portfolio, including FNC, INP, and ONR Experimentation programs.
• Facilitate collaboration and information sharing on S&T issues among OPNAV, acquisition, and Fleet stakeholders.
• Conduct technical program analysis and research to prepare findings and recommendations for strategic planning.
• Engage with senior officials at the DoD and Navy secretariat level on strategic RDT&E matters and technology transition.
• Manage multi-functional team elements to ensure continuity of mission support and deliverable quality.
• Draft and deliver reports, briefs, and outreach materials for Congressional and DoD leadership.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• 5–7 years of experience working in the Department of War (DoW) science and technology environment.
• Experience supporting senior leadership on complex tasks within an S&T department.
• Experience managing diverse teams in support of evolving leadership priorities.
• Experience in technical program management for programs exceeding $1M.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Nice to have

• Experience facilitating collaboration on S&T issues specifically between OPNAV, PAE, and Fleet entities.
• Experience engaging with senior officials at the Navy secretariat level on strategic RDT&E issues.
