What you will do

• Design and operate distributed backend systems for recommendations and AI workflow engines using Python and TypeScript/Node.js.
• Own and harden cloud infrastructure on AWS and Kubernetes, focusing on reliability, observability, and scalability.
• Implement resilient failure-handling mechanisms, including eventing, streaming, retries, and backpressure.
• Design and optimize MongoDB data models and queries to power recommendations.
• Collaborate with product engineers, PMs, and designers to ship end-to-end features and maintain high code quality.
• Mentor engineers across the team on backend and reliability practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building and operating backend systems in production, preferably in scalable multi-tenant SaaS.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, including concurrency, asynchronous processing, and queues/streaming.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript/Node.js and experience with MongoDB.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and observability tools (metrics, logging, tracing).
• Business-level fluency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Must be based in Argentina.

Nice to have

• Experience with orchestration engines such as Temporal, n8n, or Airflow.
• Experience building or operating LLM-backed or agentic systems in production.
• Track record of improving service reliability and stability.
