TL;DR

Application Engineer (vECU Development) (Automotive/Embedded): Develop, validate, integrate, and release virtual electronic and mechatronic control units for Software Defined Vehicle architectures in future passenger vehicles with an accent on virtual ECU modeling, automotive communication protocols, and system-level validation. Focus on creating Level 4 SystemC models, integrating microcontroller and peripheral models, and ensuring reliable real-time behavior across complex virtual vehicle systems.

Location: Hybrid in Milford, Michigan, with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

  • Develop, test, validate, integrate, and release virtual mechatronics control units for Software Defined Vehicle architectures.
  • Serve as the main technical contact for model components, parameters, software images, and vMCU testing.
  • Plan and validate Level 4 virtual ECU model functionality and execution periodicities.
  • Model and integrate microcontrollers, peripherals, drivers, modules, switches, timers, and transceivers.
  • Coordinate system-level validation and release activities for future passenger vehicle platforms.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience as an Electrical Engineer, Validation Engineer, or in a related occupation.
  • At least 1 year of experience validating and releasing passenger vehicle ECUs or virtual ECUs at component and system level.
  • Experience with Vector CANalyzer, CANoe, Synopsys Virtualizer, Corellium, and Lauterbach Trace32.
  • Experience creating SystemC TLM2.0 models and integrating microcontroller and peripheral models into Level 4 virtual ECUs.
  • Knowledge of RTOS, CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, UDP, TCP, SPI, and UART protocols.
