What you will do

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric intake evaluations, clarify diagnoses, assess safety risks, and create individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe medications through telehealth, including Schedule II and Schedule IV controlled substances when clinically appropriate and legally permitted.
• Transition appropriate patients to PMHNP-led care through complete, clinically actionable handoffs.
• Maintain a focused follow-up caseload for patients requiring continued psychiatrist involvement.
• Provide consultation, escalation support, mentorship, and clinical guidance to PMHNPs and other APPs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and contribute to documentation, case reviews, quality improvement, and care-pathway development.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree and completion of an accredited psychiatry residency.
• Active, unrestricted Texas medical license and active, unrestricted DEA registration are required.
• Board certification or board eligibility in psychiatry.
• Professional experience providing psychiatric care through telehealth, including controlled-substance prescribing in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Experience managing, supervising, mentoring, or clinically leading APPs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
• Strong psychiatric assessment, diagnostic, risk-evaluation, medication-management, communication, and documentation skills.
