Data Product Governance Lead (Snowflake)

What you will do

• Define publication, certification, metadata, lineage, quality, ownership, and lifecycle standards for data products.
• Establish data contract requirements covering schemas, semantics, service expectations, versioning, and change management.
• Work hands-on in Snowflake, including Horizon Catalog, RBAC, tagging, classification, masking, and row- and column-level controls.
• Own the backlog and roadmap for catalog, lineage, metadata, publication, certification, and related governance capabilities.
• Partner with Data Platform engineers and domain teams to automate governance checks and implement quality monitoring.
• Lead feedback, adoption, and performance measurement for data publishers and consumers while building a governance function over time.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in data governance, data products, data platforms, data architecture, analytics engineering, technical product management, or related disciplines.
• Hands-on experience implementing catalog, metadata, lineage, data quality, and data product governance capabilities in a modern cloud data platform.
• Experience owning a technical product backlog or roadmap and translating policy and user needs into engineering-ready requirements.
• Working knowledge of RBAC, data classification, masking, and row- and column-level access controls.
• Strong communication and influencing skills across business and technology teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake Horizon Catalog or comparable catalog and lineage platforms.
• Experience with medallion architecture, federated data products, or domain-oriented data models.
• Experience automating metadata, quality, contract, or publication requirements through pipelines, APIs, CI/CD, or platform tooling.
• Experience with regulated environments, PII, streaming or messaging schemas, and self-service data discovery.
• Familiarity with governance for AI and agent-based use cases.
