Threat Detection Researcher (Windows/Linux/MacOS)

Location: New York City, United States. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD base salary, plus bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop threat detections and tools for protecting customers from cloud attacks.
• Investigate attacks, malware, and emerging threats targeting cloud and AI workloads.
• Hunt and analyze real-world threats across cloud environments.
• Collaborate with R&D to turn research findings into product features.
• Support customers with suspicious-activity and potential-incident investigations.
• Create security best practices, policies, blog posts, and conference presentations.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in security or threat research with actionable outcomes.
• Deep knowledge of Windows, Linux, and MacOS internals and networking.
• Experience with cloud services, Kubernetes, cloud architecture, AWS, GCP, and Azure.
• Proficiency in Python for tool development and automation.
• Experience delivering security detections in customer-facing products.
• Strong independent working, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Malware analysis, reverse engineering, or vulnerability research experience.
• Threat intelligence, threat actor, incident response, red-team, or threat-hunting experience.
• Experience using AI to improve research and detection workflows.
• Knowledge of supply-chain, CI/CD, AI infrastructure, or agentic-framework threats.
