Network Threat Detection R&D Engineer (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, California, USA; onsite attendance at the hirify.global office 5 days per week

Annual base salary: USD 143,800–230,000, plus discretionary bonus and equity awards.

hirify.global’s Application Networking and Security Division develops Zero Trust lateral security, load balancing, and advanced threat prevention solutions for private cloud and enterprise environments.

What you will do

• Research emerging agentic and human-driven network threats to advance intrusion detection and prevention capabilities.
• Architect and build AI-enabled and agentic security solutions for virtual workloads in large-scale data centers.
• Analyze malicious traffic and design, prototype, and implement high-performance IDPS signatures.
• Build and maintain scalable data collection infrastructure with automated feedback loops and data enrichment.
• Translate threat intelligence into actionable, high-fidelity detection logic and signatures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 12+ years of related experience, or a Master’s degree with 10+ years, or a PhD with 7+ years.
• Strong experience and interest in network security, including IDPS concepts and IDS signature development.
• Experience with Python.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes environments.
• Ability to analyze large amounts of data, troubleshoot complex issues, and work independently and collaboratively.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and availability for 5 days/week onsite attendance in Palo Alto are required.

• Experience experimenting with AI tools and agentic AI systems.
