Active Directory Engineer

Location: Hybrid, Utrecht, Netherlands; balance home and office work.

Gross monthly salary: €5,030–€7,183 for a 36-hour work week.

What you will do

• Modernize and decommission legacy identity and authentication solutions across the bank.
• Design, maintain, and improve Active Directory, federation, and hybrid identity architectures.
• Manage federation services including ADFS, SAML, OAuth2, and OpenID Connect.
• Develop automation, tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code capabilities.
• Deploy identity solutions across Azure, AWS, and on-premises environments.
• Advise product owners, architects, engineers, and development teams on authentication, authorization, and identity integrations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Strong experience with Active Directory Domain Services in large enterprise environments.
• Experience with ADFS, Microsoft Entra ID, hybrid identity architectures, and modern federation technologies.
• Knowledge of Kerberos, NTLM, LDAP, SAML, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SCIM.
• Experience with Azure and/or AWS, automation, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Dutch and English.

Nice to have

• Experience with identity governance and privileged access management.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering or identity controls for AI agents, machine identities, and non-human identities.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory requirements such as DORA and NIS2.
• Experience coaching colleagues and sharing technical knowledge.
