General Counsel (Digital Assets)

Location: Primarily in-person in New York City; remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

hirify.global builds enterprise infrastructure for transparent and verifiable onchain financial products, including stablecoins, tokenized commodities, and institutional DeFi solutions.

What you will do

• Own legal and regulatory strategy across stablecoin earn, stablecoin orchestration, tokenized commodities, and lending products.
• Draft, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with institutional counterparties.
• Lead regulatory analysis covering securities, commodities, money transmission, and virtual asset service provider positioning.
• Establish and manage corporate structures, entity matters, board governance, intercompany arrangements, cap table matters, and financing documentation.
• Build the compliance stack, including AML and sanctions programs, KYB, counterparty onboarding, due diligence responses, and institutional policies.
• Handle employment, IP, privacy, and general corporate matters while building the legal function as the organization scales.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school and active bar admission in good standing in at least one US jurisdiction.
• 8–12 years of legal practice, ideally combining top-tier law firm and in-house digital asset or fintech experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in digital asset regulation, including token classification, distribution structures, and licensing questions.
• Transactional experience in secured lending or structured finance, including perfection and enforceability analysis.
• Experience with offshore structures and multijurisdictional legal coverage.
• Conceptual understanding of smart contract architecture, vaults, oracles, and liquidation mechanisms, with comfort operating independently.

• Prior in-house experience at a digital asset or fintech company.
• Experience defending legal positions to counterparties, auditors, and regulators.
