What you will do
- Design and scale SLAM pipelines for accurate localisation and state estimation in dynamic physical environments.
- Integrate foundation geometry models and modern machine learning into localisation, data association, and visual odometry systems.
- Architect long-term mapping systems that autonomously update and scale spatial maps across changing environments.
- Build auto-labeling data pipelines that generate high-fidelity spatial ground truth for machine learning training.
- Develop hybrid geometry and deep learning systems that convert sensor data into globally consistent metric trajectories.
- Deploy, benchmark, and productionize spatial AI software on robot hardware while evaluating new research for the navigation roadmap.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in classical SLAM and multi-view geometry, including state estimation, visual or LiDAR odometry, and multi-sensor fusion.
- Experience with backend map optimisation and long-term mapping in large or changing physical environments.
- Practical experience applying modern machine learning to geometric problems and adapting foundation geometry models.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience writing clean, highly parallelised, production-grade algorithmic code.
- Hands-on experience deploying navigation systems on physical hardware and working within edge-compute constraints.
- Ability to translate computer vision and robotics research into reliable production systems.
