Plant Technician - Power Plant

What you will do

• Operate and control plant processes and electrical distribution through the DCS and other control devices.
• Monitor plant performance, respond to alarms, and take corrective action using independent judgment.
• Conduct equipment rounds, identify operational problems, maintain housekeeping standards, and communicate issues to maintenance personnel.
• Perform preventive maintenance, assist with equipment repairs, and conduct boiler and cooling tower water quality testing.
• Maintain accurate operating logs and contribute to budget planning and plant training programs.
• Provide leadership to less experienced personnel and act in the supervisor’s absence when required.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience performing similar work in a power or process environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
• Strong math skills, mechanical ability, and production control aptitude.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a dependable, self-motivated work style.
• Ability to perform physical work, including prolonged standing, sitting, and walking; frequent bending, stooping, and stretching; and repeated lifting of up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to provide and use basic hand tools according to the company’s required list.
