Compliance Officer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Compliance Officer (Fintech): Managing the local compliance program in Colombia, covering AML/CFT controls, KYC investigations, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting with an accent on UIAF processes, SAGRILAFT, SIPLAFT, and FATF standards. Focus on investigating suspicious activity, improving monitoring controls, and coordinating with regulators, auditors, banking partners, and internal product and operations teams.

Location: Bogota, Colombia; hybrid work with 3–4 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Own and operate the local compliance program for Colombia in line with local and international requirements.
• Review KYC alerts, biometric mismatches, fraud indicators, sanctions, PEP, adverse media, and suspicious transactions.
• Prepare and submit ROS and other regulatory filings through SIREL to UIAF.
• Respond to requests from UIAF, SFC, DIAN, law enforcement, auditors, and banking partners.
• Improve transaction monitoring, investigation, and regulatory reporting controls.
• Embed AML/CFT requirements into processes in collaboration with risk, operations, and product teams.

Requirements

• Fluency in Spanish and English is required.
• Proven experience with UIAF regulatory reporting, including ROS and SIREL.
• Strong knowledge of AML/CFT frameworks, including SAGRILAFT, SIPLAFT, and FATF standards.
• Experience with audits, inspections, regulatory risk assessments, and engagement with authorities.
• Expertise in KYC controls covering identity documents, biometrics, sanctions, and adverse media.
• Hands-on, detail-oriented, proactive approach with confidence engaging regulators and external authorities.

Nice to have

• AML or compliance certifications such as CAMS or ICA.
• Regional LATAM compliance experience.
• Knowledge of fintech, payments, and digital asset regulations.
• Experience building or scaling compliance programs.
