Head of Data & AI (AI)

Location: Amsterdam (Flexible work model: hybrid and options for remote work)

What you will do

• Lead the Data & AI strategy, prioritizing projects and defining the technical stack.
• Manage a team of approximately four people across analytics, data engineering, and AI operations.
• Implement legal, privacy, and quality guardrails for AI usage.
• Balance leadership and coaching (50%) with direct execution on high-impact technical projects.
• Develop complex data models, improve capacity forecasting, and optimize commercial data usage.
• Empower and coach teams across the organization to become proficient in using AI.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional experience in consulting, data, analytics, or AI.
• At least 2 years of leadership experience and 2-3 years of hands-on work in data or AI.
• University-level degree, preferably in a quantitative or technical field.
• Strong ability to structure complex problems and design data transformation logic.
• Understanding of modern data tech stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow) and the evolving AI tooling landscape.
• Must be based in or able to work within the Netherlands (Hybrid/Remote)

Nice to have

• Proficiency with SQL.
• Experience with Python.
