Assembly & Test Technician II (Aerospace): Performing precision assembly and testing of mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical flight actuators with an accent on blueprint-driven adjustments, dimensional accuracy, and acceptance testing. Focus on diagnosing test failures, executing rework, and validating actuator conformance with mechanical, hydraulic, and electronic test equipment.
Location: Onsite in Torrance, California, United States; 1st shift, 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
Salary: $28.00–$36.00 per hour
Company
designs and integrates primary and secondary flight control actuation systems for military aircraft, including the F-35 Lightning II and V-280 Valor.
What you will do
- Perform precision assembly on complex production and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical actuators.
- Adjust and align assemblies through shimming and other blueprint-specified mechanical adjustments.
- Use torque wrenches, fixtures, tooling, gages, dial indicators, calipers, and micrometers to maintain dimensional accuracy.
- Conduct production and repair tests using hydraulic, mechanical, and electronic test equipment.
- Diagnose test failures, recommend or perform rework, and hold problem units for engineering disposition.
- Document parts replaced and work performed, order parts through RUR and WDS systems, and ensure testing follows current acceptance procedures.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of mechanical, hydraulic, electromechanical, electronic, or aerospace assembly experience.
- Experience with precision assembly and testing of flight actuators.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring equipment.
- Experience diagnosing mechanical components and test failures.
- Ability to understand and apply written, verbal, and computer work instructions in English; basic Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Must meet FAA drug and alcohol testing program requirements and be able to obtain a security clearance.
Nice to have
- High school diploma or GED.
- FAA Airframe and Powerplant certification.
