Software Engineer

Overview

The Near.org Core Experience team is seeking a Software Engineer to enhance near.org with social, collaborative, and engagement features. You'll evolve the near.org developer network, making it the best place to build open source software and decentralized applications. Collaboration with Designers and User Researchers will be key to building elegant User Experiences.

What you will do

• Work on a collaborative and globally distributed team of experienced engineers.
• Develop user interfaces on near.org in the open.
• Participate in on-call rotations.
• Follow minimal processes like roadmaps and team meetings.

Requirements

• Ability to solve a variety of frontend engineering tasks.
• Effective communication skills for discussing technical challenges.
• Creativity to create proofs of concept from high-level designs.
• 3+ years of experience building interactive production UIs in React.
• Experience integrating with async APIs and client-side state management.
• Fluency in Typescript/Javascript and web standards, with a solid understanding of CSS.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Arts, or relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience working with a fully remote team.
• Open-source contributions and involvement in open-source communities.
• Experience with design systems and CSS-in-JS libraries.
• Familiarity with crypto or blockchain technologies and startup experience.
