TL;DR
Technical Consultant, Compute & Virtualization (VMware): Designing, implementing, and supporting modern compute and virtualization infrastructure for enterprise clients with an accent on secure, scalable, and supportable infrastructure. Focus on deploying VMware vSphere and Cloud Foundation, optimizing hybrid cloud environments, and performing complex data center migrations.
Location: Hybrid: Must be based in Atlanta, Georgia

What you will do
- Lead client discovery, assessment, and design workshops for compute platforms.
- Implement rack, blade, and hyperconverged infrastructure, including GPU-enabled systems.
- Deploy, upgrade, and optimize virtualization services using VMware vSphere and VMware Cloud Foundation.
- Drive data center modernization, consolidation, and migration initiatives.
- Create detailed technical documentation, build guides, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with storage, networking, and security specialists to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing or supporting enterprise compute and virtualization environments.
- Hands-on expertise with VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, clusters, HA).
- Deep knowledge of server hardware, firmware, and capacity planning.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and drive them to resolution.
- Strong skill in producing technical documentation and communicating details to stakeholders.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required by engagements.
Nice to have
- Experience with vSAN, NSX, Aria, HCX, or Azure Stack HCI.
- Familiarity with Cisco UCS, Dell, HPE, Lenovo, or NVIDIA enterprise platforms.
- Automation skills using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or Terraform.
- Relevant certifications such as VCP, VCAP, VCDX, or Microsoft Azure.
- Previous experience in professional services or systems integration.
