Staff Software Engineer, AI Agentic Experience (AI)

Staff Software Engineer (AI/Identity): Building infrastructure, tooling, and developer experiences that empower human developers and AI agents to create secure, intelligent applications with an accent on agent authentication, orchestration frameworks, and MCP servers. Location: Hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $160,000 — $220,000 CAD

What you will do

• Design and build developer tooling for securing infrastructure such as MCP servers.
• Develop demo applications showcasing identity-powered AI use cases in real-world environments.
• Contribute to open-source projects within the Auth0 ecosystem and the broader AI + identity space.
• Create high-quality documentation, including API references and quickstarts for AI-native tooling.
• Develop adapters and interfaces for agent runtimes and orchestration layers to integrate emerging AI frameworks.
• Mentor other engineers and influence architectural decisions and engineering standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in software engineering building tools, frameworks, or platforms.
• Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, Golang, and/or Python.
• Experience with LLM APIs, agent runtimes, orchestration layers, or prompt pipelines.
• Knowledge of authentication standards such as OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT.
• Proven track record of leading architecture and design for scalable production systems.
• Experience contributing to and maintaining open-source projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, or FastAPI.
• Familiarity with Token Vault or Fine-Grained Authorization (FGA).
