Staff Software Engineer (Developer Infrastructure)

Location: New York City, NY office with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Base pay: $230,000–$270,000 USD in Zone 1; $203,000–$238,000 USD in Zone 2; $180,000–$211,000 USD in Zone 3, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Define the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for developer infrastructure, including CI, source control, and development environments.
• Build and operate scalable infrastructure focused on speed, safety, reliability, and increasing operational loads.
• Lead developer onboarding and remote development environment improvements to reduce time-to-first-commit.
• Standardize build and CI patterns across engineering teams and reduce developer friction.
• Conduct design reviews, establish operational best practices, and mentor infrastructure engineers.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing, scaling, and operating developer infrastructure or high-volume build and CI systems in production.
• Deep expertise in modern build systems such as Bazel and distributed or remote build execution.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD at scale.
• Strong programming proficiency in Go or Python and experience building reliable system software.
• Experience leading complex technical initiatives and collaborating across engineering teams.
