Software Engineer III - Release, STaRQ (Hybrid)

Location: Hybrid, with at least two days per week in the office. Posted locations include Redmond, WA; New York, NY; Austin, TX; and Sunnyvale, CA, USA.

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential bonuses, equity grants, health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off.

What you will do

• Own the release lifecycle from build creation through production deployment, post-release monitoring, and support.
• Execute and manage releases across Windows, Mac, Linux, containers, and mobile platforms, including validation and test-failure triage.
• Develop scripts and automation tools for building, integrating, and deploying software releases.
• Establish release-management processes, cadence, calendars, rollback mechanisms, and performance indicators.
• Coordinate release activities across departments and worldwide business units, communicating risks and mitigating blockers.
• Measure release effectiveness, improve deployment tooling, and lead blocker meetings and go-live activities.

Requirements

• Experience working in a software release-management capacity.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, or Bitbucket.
• Experience with build systems and troubleshooting build failures.
• Ability to interpret test results and perform basic debugging to identify issue patterns.
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, a query engine such as Splunk, Python, and Go.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle, specifically Agile/Scrum.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent releases in a fast-paced environment and make timely decisions with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional groups across worldwide divisions.
• Willingness to support critical release windows that may occasionally occur outside standard business hours.
• Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, streamline workflows and processes, increase efficiency, and drive business outcomes.
