What you will do

• Underwrite and process renewal policies independently, evaluating risk exposure through detailed documentation.
• Ensure accurate pricing and classification of individual risks in adherence to company standards.
• Collaborate with agents and internal departments to maintain and grow a profitable book of business.
• Conduct continuous profit and growth analysis by territory and agency using electronic reporting tools.
• Coach and mentor less experienced underwriters and provide system training to internal and external customers.
• Monitor industry trends and competitive activity within the assigned territory.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of commercial underwriting experience required.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license in good standing required for territory travel.
• College degree preferred.
• Completion or pursuit of INS, AU, CIC, or CPCU certifications strongly preferred.
• Highly proficient written and verbal communication and negotiation skills.
